New Releases of pCLOCD and SNOMED CT Available

The January 2017 versions of pan-Canadian LOINC Observation Code Database (pCLOCD) and Systematized NOmenclature of MEDicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT®) are now available for review and implementation.

The latest release of pCLOCD, SNOMED CT can be found on the Terminology Gateway. All respective supporting documentation can be found on InfoCentral and are accessible once you have logged in with your Infoway account. pCLOCD documentation can be found on the LOINC and pCLOCD Standards page under Implementation and Exchange and the SNOMED CT International documentation is included in the release package.

Content highlights for the January 2017 release of pCLOCD include:

  • New content has been added that was requested by Saskatchewan, Ontario and Manitoba
  • 358 new French Canadian translations have been added
  • Changes are based on the December 2016 International release of LOINC
  • Less than 1,125 records have been edited

Please refer to the pCLOCD Release Notes as published on InfoCentral. These notes are intended to accompany the release to provide further information on specific additions and changes that have been incorporated into this release.

Some content highlights for the January 2017 release of SNOMED CT include:

  • 700 new concepts added to support Orphanet collaboration project
  • 400 new concepts added to support Clinical finding lateralised concepts
  • 400 new concepts added to support Procedure lateralised concepts
  • 305 new concepts added to support the Substances redesign
  • 277 new concepts added to support the Organism and Infectious Disease Redesign project
  • 250 new concepts added to support Body structure lateralised concepts
  • 215 new concepts added to support the LOINC – SNOMED CT Project
  • 154 new concepts added for Situation and explicit context
  • 153 new concepts added for Observable entity redesign
  • Update to the SNOMED CT to ICD-10 map
  • Ongoing maintenance for the Controlled Medical Terminologies (CMT) Subsets

Requests for change to these terminology standards should be made via Infoway’s request for change management system known as InfoRMS which is accessible once you have logged in with your Infoway account credentials. If you don’t have an Infoway account, register, accept the appropriate license agreements and request an InfoRMS account.
