À propos de nous

Welcome to the Patient Summary Working Group

The purpose of this working group is to collaborate on the various aspects of creating, distributing and consuming a health records summary for a patient.

Part of this work will include a definition of what a meaningful health summary should be in the Canadian context, what elements it should include, the standards to be used in its definition and the technical interoperability considerations to support its life cycle.

There are a number of international initiatives that deal with summaries (e.g. IPS). This working group will analyze alignment of those specifications to the expected clinical scenarios that are expected in the Canadian context.

The pan-Canadian interoperability specificaitons and information about testing events (i.e., the Projectathon) can be found on InfoScribe. Notifications about upcoming events will be served through the Forums in this working group.

Welcome once again, please check out the group calendar for upcoming events and the Forum feeds for ongoing conversations.

Hi all, Two quick update items around the PS-CA v1.1.0 DFT Release. 1) TGZ Package now available on Simplifier.net The ... noted that the TGZ Package was delayed, awaiting the publication of the latest FHIR Extensions Registry. The ... has been released, so ... is also now available on Simplifier.net The Extensions Registry publication includes a new extension that allows the use of "Notes" extension for the Composition.section, for implementations where Notes are being captured at the section level (e.g. Medications section, Allergies/Intolerances section rather than as a note on a specific medication or allergy/intolerance). 2) CVC > NVC Migration As part of the ..., there were questions around .... We are pleased to share that the PS-CA v1.1.0 DFT does not use the CVC ValueSets, and is instead using equivalent ValueSets hosted on the Terminology Gateway. The CA Core+ similarly uses the same ValueSets. Note that the SiteOfAdministration ValueSet is still in the process of migration, expected at the end of the month (May 2024). The PS-CA v1.1.0 DFT binding for Immunization.site is currently "example", so implementers will be able to use the ValueSet once it is released. Thank you for your attention, Ken, on behalf of the interoperability team.

Thanks for putting this together. I have a couple of items for feedback. 1. Regarding TLS versions, in IHE we've trended toward asserting that the use of TLS SHALL be compliant with IETF BCP 195 rather than referencing specific TLS versions. Doing so reduces the risk that the security guidance in our specifications will fall out of alignment with current best practices established by IETF's security community. BCP 195 was recently updated to deprecate TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1, so the desire to set a floor of TLS 1.2 is currently consistent with BCP 195. 2. Outside of UDAP, it is common for systems to exchange authentication keys using an out of band mechanism rather than using X.509 certificates. They might do so by exchanging bare keys or by establishing a URL at which a JWKS object can be retrieved. Existing implementations of SMART are likely to not support using X.509 certificates. I recommend making the "SHALL be tied to the client system's certificate" be applicable only to UDAP implementations, and allow SMART systems to exchange keys in other ways.
