À propos de nous

What is the HL7 Canada Community?

The HL7 Canada Community is a place to share and learn about the use of HL7 related pan-Canadian health information standards. HL7 Canada promotes and supports the domestic and international harmonization of HL7 standards to enable the sharing of health information in Canada. HL7 Canada also ensures that consensus positions, advice and decisions are reached with appropriate consultation and in an open, transparent, and accountable manner without a preponderance of influence by any one stakeholder group.

This community is where requests to make changes to any of the pan-Canadian messages occur and where implementers come for OID requests in Canada or find Canadian OIDs in the HL7 OID Registry.

Canada is proud to have a thriving HL7 Canada Constituency and actively participates in HL7 Ballots.

Hello HL7 Community Members, As we start the 2024/25 period for the HL7 Canada Affiliate access, we are pleased to announce some significant changes to the HL7 Canada organizational memberships, offering increased opportunities for each organization’s involvement and additional HL7 benefits. Starting this year, the HL7 Canada Council has approved a new framework granting each organizational member up to 5 HL7 Canada voting members per year. This includes participation in HL7 International ballots through the HL7 Canada Council. It is important to designate these staff from your organization as they will be directly involved in future HL7 Canada voting and balloting processes and will increase our collective representation in the HL7 International ballot counts. In addition to this new voting structure, your organizational membership continues to provide your staff with access to discounts on HL7 conference fees, education, and certification exams. More details are available on the ... on InfoCentral. Action Required: If you are the primary contact of jurisdictions or organizations with 2024/25 renewal, we kindly ask you to provide the list of 1 to 5 named voting members from your organization to [email protected] by May 24, 2024. If you are not the primary contact but are involved in your organization, please ensure that this information is communicated to the primary contact so they can take the necessary action. Please note this step is vital for ensuring your organization’s full participation rights in the voting process. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please .... Thank you for your cooperation with these new changes and your continued commitment to the HL7 community. Warm regards, Helen

Hello HL7 Canada Community. Here is the link to the ... for those persons who wish to review and comment on the ballot content. This compressed folder contains an Excel spreadsheet that provided an index to all of the content for this ballot, as well as the spreadsheets you can use to provide your ballot comments. Most of the ballot content is from the FHIR website, however there is other downloaded content that has been extracted from their individual ZIP files and then consolidated here in this package for your convenience. At the very top of the Excel index is a link to the description of all of the items in the ballot package. Simply download the Ballot Package ZIP file, create a folder for the extracted files, and then extract all to that folder. Then use the hyperlinks in the Excel ballot index file to access ballot items content and related comment spreadsheets. Each comment spreadsheet has extensive explanation of how to record your comments. PLEASE NOTE: HL7/IHE Specification: Service-oriented Device Point-of-care Interoperability (SDPi) Technical Framework, Edition 1 When the Ballot package ZIP file is decompressed, the content folder for this ballot item contains an offline website and an introductory PDF to guide you in your review of the content. Comments on of the ballot items are due to the HL7 Canada Council on or before May 8th. Once you have completed a ballot comment spreadsheet, use the | Contact US | link at the top of this page to submit the spreadsheet file. Thanks very much. If you have any questions about the ballot or the comment submission process contact [email protected] Ron G. Parker, HL7 Chair
